Naemura Jinja in Koka, Shiga Prefecture, is renowned for its exceptionally well-preserved honden (main hall), built in 1308 and designated a National Treasure of Japan. The structure is one of the finest surviving examples of Kamakura-period shrine architecture, featuring the rare three-bay, hip-and-gable (irimoya-zukuri) style with intricate bracket sets. The shrine enshrines local land and agricultural deities and has been cherished by the communities of the Koka valley for over seven centuries.
Current honden completed, later designated a National Treasure for its exceptional Kamakura-period architecture.
