/ Isasumi Jinja
Isasumi Shrine is the ichinomiya of Iwashiro Province and the general guardian shrine of the Aizu region. With over 2,000 years of attributed history, it enshrines Izanagi and Izanami, the creator couple of Japanese mythology, making it especially revered for marriage blessings.

Legendary prince, son of Ōhiko no Mikoto; sent as one of the Four General Commanders (Shidoshogun) to pacify the east (Tokaido)
The name 'Aizu' itself is said to derive from the meeting of two generals near this shrine, as recorded in shrine tradition.
