Source: 元禄元年（1688年）、松浦藩主の命により社殿再興
Listed in the Engishiki as a Myōjin Taisha (eminent-deity grand shrine) of Iki Province
Scholar Tachibana Mitsuyoshi identifies the present site as the original shrine location
Shrine rebuilt at present site by order of Matsuura domain lord
